How do you connect music and Lucent Avaya Partner ACS telephone system, while waiting?
I do not really have a lot of knowledge on small business phone systems. I try to play royalty free music on our phone system while we put people Waiting. We have an Avaya (old school Lucent) Partner ACS system with a main unit and two extension units. R version 4.1 and is currently running 4 lines outside it and 10 extensions. There is music on hold RCA connector on the front of the main unit. Right now we have an RCA cable for the a computer where we are playing music to work. We have heard nothing and have tried numerous things like making sure the feature is programmed on a telephone, etc. Any help or ideas? Do we need a music hook to do this job or a source of smaller watt? Thanks for your help!
The port may take up to 2 volts PP. Did you turn the feature on the schedule (# 602)? Once to activate it, you can go to any phone with a speaker system and press FUNCTION 19 and have background music. You also have to transfer the program to the music if that's what you do. Carl
